Chase Baker, Renaissance man and adventurer is back. When a flirtatious, beautiful young woman by the name of Andrea Gallo claims to be a fan of his pulp novels, Chase can´t resist reciprocating in the lusty attraction. But that night, while the two enjoy a romantic evening of wine and love in his Florence apartment, he is suddenly kidnapped from his bed by two thugs who turn out not only to be working for Great Britain´s infamous MI-16, but also working side-by-side with Gallo. Duped once again, Chase wants to bid his newfound romance a quick ´´arrivederci´´ and be on his way. But when they tell him they desperately need his help to uncover a legendary cave in the Northern Italian forest before a team of Russian and Iranian hardliners do, he feels compelled to help out, regardless of their rather unsound method of capturing his attention. But what´s so special about the cave? It´s said to be the very same cave that Leonardo da Vinci discovered as a young man back in the mid-15th century, and where he not only learned the secrets behind his many inventions, including the airplane, but where he was exposed to the very meaning behind God´s divine plan for mankind. Why is the MI-16 so desperate to uncover the cave before the bad guys do? Whoever discovers it first will possess the knowledge and the power to take over the world. 1. Language: English. Richard Landry, suspected of heisting a fortune during a daring and puzzling (to authorities) airplane robbery, has led a determined police detective on an eight-year chase that starts in Ottawa, Canada and ends in Brazil. Landry is also the only suspect in the grisly murder of an undercover female Brinks Security agent, who was also his lover. Filled with great characters and a solid plot, this book will take you on an emotional and visceral ride. Written while he was in prison, Paddy Mitchell uses his sense of humor, combined with his knowledge of criminal and law enforcement minds, to craft a tale that could easily be described as the heist of a lifetime by the master of the heist.
In 1916, Pancho Villa crossed into New Mexico and attacked the town of Columbus, killing civilians and soldiers, burned the town, and stole supplies. He fled back to Mexico hiding in the mountains of Chihuahua. President Woodrow Wilson sent Major General Blackjack Pershing and Lieutenant George Patton into Mexico to exact revenge in what was called the Mexican Expedition. In this story, Patton uses airplanes and vehicles in a first for warfare and the last calvary charge on horseback chases Pancho through rugged Mexican mountains and canyons. Many soldiers in this campaign were Buffalo Soldiers, units of black man who excelled in Indian warfare. This true short story is a composite of stories told to me by two tough old Texans who were in the Mexican border wars. Names have been changed, but most of the events are real. 1. Language: English. Centuries ago humanity never had the benefits of technology we enjoy today. But with our cars, washing machines, airplanes, computers, cell phones, and other machines, we seem to be busier than ever. Spending time with the family for many is a luxury confirmed to a few designated days in a year. But how is it we are so busy but yet we are managing not to achieve much? I woke up one morning completely burnt out from the demands of my high-paying corporate job and decided there had to be a better way. I eventually became an author and within a few years found myself back at that place of being burnt out and struggling with heart issues. (Did you know stress-related heart disease is the number-one cause of death in America?) That is when I discovered the life-changing difference between busy and productive. Being productive is not just about success - it´s also about living a healthy and fulfilled life. In this book I will share with you the secrets I uncovered in my study of some of the greatest achievers of modern history. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Gregory Allen Siders. The story begins with strange lights and sounds, including blaring trumpet music, reported in the skies all over the world. The events are capped by the mysterious appearance of black flags with gold suns atop tall historic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty in New York, the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and the Eiffel Tower in Paris. These events are all the work of the mysterious Robur,, a brilliant inventor who intrudes on a meeting of a flight-enthusiasts club called the Weldon Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Members of the Weldon Institute are all firm believers that mankind shall master the skies using lighter than air craft, and that heavier than air craft such as airplanes and helicopters would be unfeasible. The institute has been constructing a giant dirigible called the Go-ahead, and are having a heated discussion of where to place its propeller (in front to pull it, or behind to push it) when Robur appears at the meeting and is admitted to speak to them. He chastises the group for being balloon-boosters when heavier than air flying apparatuses are the future. When asked if Robur himself has made conquest of the air, he states that he has, leading to him accepting the title Robur the Conqueror. During his short time at the Weldon Institute Robur so incites the members, that they chase him outside. Just as they are about to attack him, Robur appears to vanish into the mob, but he has actually been borne away by a flying machine (Excerpt from Wikipedia)
